You no longer have to queue at ticket counters or automated token vending machines to purchase Delhi Metro tickets.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a smartphone app called ‘DMRC TRAVEL’ that generates paperless online mobile QR tickets for travel throughout its network in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
Delhi Metro passengers may now buy tickets immediately from their cell phones.
According to government sources, travelers may use their phones to download the app, register, purchase tickets, and scan them at the gate.
If the commuter’s phone is lost or dies during the journey, they must buy the ticket at the customer service kiosk.
Here is a step-by-step way to purchase a Delhi Metro QR paperless ticket online:
Get the ‘DMRC Travel & Map Navigation App’ from the Google Play store.
The app is currently only accessible on the Google Play store. According to DMRC, the app will be available on the Apple App Store shortly.

DMRC App Travel Benefits
The Delhi Metro has released a dedicated mobile app for its users that allows them to generate easy and hassle-free mobile-based QR-code tickets for travel across its network.
Until recently, travelers could book and recharge metro tokens using third-party applications. The DMRC has recently released a new app that allows customers to reserve and pay for tickets online.
The future of the present Delhi Metro Rail app is still unknown. The previous software allowed users to check the Delhi Metro app and the journey time from station to station.
Meanwhile, the DMRC recently relaxed restrictions on bringing liquor bottles into the metro. Travelers are now permitted to bring sealed bottles, albeit there may be complications if they are traveling from Delhi to Noida.
As previously stated, the DMRC Travel app allows customers to recharge their smart cards.

Passengers are urged to explore the app’s capabilities and advantages by downloading it from their respective app stores.
To provide such a user-friendly, cashless, and fast mode of ticketing, DMRC undertook a massive technically challenging exercise of upgrading its AFC Gates, which were already in passenger service, on all of its corridors in record time without shutting down these gates for even a single day.
The whole procedure was completed largely within the little time available in the night after passenger services had ended so that when services restarted the following day, all gates remained operational for passengers.
DMRC has already renovated more than 60% of its AFC gates with QR code readers, and the remaining gates are expected to be changed over the next 1-2 months.
DMRC’s release of the ‘DMRC TRAVEL’ App seeks to improve customers’ overall commuting experience by offering a contemporary and user-friendly ticketing system.
This effort is consistent with DMRC’s commitment to leverage technology for the convenience of its valued passengers.
