From Microsoft to Pepsi and Google to the Mastercards we use to shop, Indians have been among the primary minds engaged in the creation and marketing management of these game-changing companies.
Indians are the CEOs of 30% of the Fortune 500 companies. According to 2015 surveys, one-third of all engineers in Silicon Valley (USA) are from India, and 10% of the world’s high-tech CEOs are all Indians.
Their remarkable communication and management abilities, flexibility, and diligent temperament are what distinguish them as ‘The Best CEOs of the World’s Largest Corporations.’ This excellent mix of professional talents and modest demeanour is what allows them to reach and keep such desired positions.
SUNDAR PICHAI

Sundar Pichai has gone a long way from growing up in a two-room flat in Ashok Nagar, Chennai, to being named CEO of Google LLC on August 10, 2015. The soft-spoken 46-year-old obtained his B. Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before winning a scholarship to Stanford University to study material science and semiconductors in physics, where he finally received his M.S. Following that, he earned his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. He joined Google in 2004 and oversaw product management and innovation for important projects such as Google Chrome OS and Google Drive.
SATYA NADELLA
Satya Narayana Nadella is his full name.

Nadella, now 51 and the father of three children, was appointed CEO of Microsoft in February 2014. He has dedicated 22 years of his life to the firm and previously served as Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise Group before being appointed CEO.
The Hyderabad native graduated from Manipal Institute of Technology with a degree in electrical engineering. Following that, he earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Nadella’s vision and genius shifted the company’s course.
He changed Microsoft’s mission statement from “a PC on every desk and in every household, running Microsoft software” to “empower every individual and every business in the world to accomplish more.” The firm appears to be doing well under his guidance, with its equities having quadrupled by September 2018 with a 27 per cent annual growth rate.
ANSHUMAN JAIN
Anshuman Jain’s full name is Anshuman Jain.

Anshuman Jain is the President of Cantor Fitzgerald and is a British Indian business professional. He served on the Management Board of Deutsche Business and remained a consultant to the bank until January 2016.
He graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce, DU, with a degree in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After finishing his schooling, he began working as an analyst in derivatives research at Kidder, Peabody and Co. from 1985 until 1988. In 1995, he joined Deutsche Bank’s fledgling markets division.
SHANTANU NARAYEN
Shantanu Narayen, who was born in Hyderabad, has been the CEO and Chairman of Adobe Inc. since 2007. Narayen received his bachelor’s degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad and his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. Narayen was born to diligent parents and rose through the ranks at Apple before joining Adobe.
SANJHAY JHA
Sanjay Jha was appointed CEO of Global Foundries, a semiconductor foundry that manufactures chips for companies such as AMD, Broadcom, Qualcomm, and STMicroelectronics, in January 2014. Prior to that, he was the CEO of Motorola Mobility and the COO of Qualcomm. He became co-CEO of Motorola in 2008, while still serving as CEO of Motorola’s Mobile Devices Business.
Prior to joining Motorola, Sanjay worked for Qualcomm for 14 years, eventually rising to the post of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Qualcomm Inc. from 2006 to 2008. Jha was born in Bhagalpur, Bihar, and graduated with honours from the University of Liverpool and the University of Strathclyde.
GEORGE KURIAN
George Kurian was named CEO and President of NetApp in June 2015, after serving as the company’s executive vice president of product operations for almost two years. Prior to joining NetApp, George was vice president and general manager of Cisco Systems’ Application Networking and Switching Technology Group.
His extensive career includes serving as vice president at Akamai Technologies, management consulting at McKinsey & Company, and heading Software Engineering and Product Management teams at Oracle Corporation. Born in the Kerala region of Kottayam, he studied engineering at IIT-Madras before leaving six months later to join Princeton University; he also has an MBA from Stanford.
FRANCISCO D’SOUZA
D’Souza is Cognizant’s CEO and a member of the company’s board of directors, and he is one of the industry’s youngest CEOs. D’Souza joined Cognizant as a co-founder in 1994 and rose to become CEO in 2007. Cognizant’s staff base has increased from 55,000 to over 230,000 during his term as CEO. D’Souza was born in Kenya, the son of an Indian ambassador. He has a BBA from the University of East Asia in Macau and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. D’Souza also serves as an independent director on the board of General Electric.
ASHOK VEHUMURI
Xerox, the 110-year-old document technology business that has come to represent everything connected with photocopying, has appointed former iGate CEO Ashok Vemuri as the new CEO of its back-office outsourcing subsidiary. Xerox said earlier this year that it will split into two independent companies: one focused on document technology, which would comprise Xerox’s core printer and copier operations, and the other on back-office outsourcing, payment processing, and other technology-related services. Vemuri, a former Infosys employee, was named CEO of Xerox’s business process outsourcing firm following the split of the corporation’s two companies.
DINESH C PALIWAL
Dinesh C. Paliwal, who now serves on Harman’s board of directors, was president and CEO of Harman International from 2007 until 2020. Harman International creates connected solutions and products for businesses, consumers, and automakers across the world. Paliwal is a Partner with the global investment firm KKR & Co. Inc. Paliwal earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and his MBA in Finance from Miami University in Ohio. Paliwal has received several honours, including Ernst & Young’s Metro New York Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010 and Fortune Magazine’s Businessman of the Year in 2014.
INDRA NOOYI
When she was the CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi was one of the world’s most influential businesswomen. She formerly held prominent roles at Boston Consulting Group, Motorola, and Johnson and Johnson. Nooyi is now on the boards of Amazon, the International Cricket Council (ICC), and Schlumberger. Nooyi earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Madras and a Post Graduate Program Diploma from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. Nooyi attended the Yale School of Management in 1978 and went to the United States, where she earned her master’s degree in Public and Private Management in 1980. Nooyi joined PepsiCo in 1994 and rose to the position of CEO in 2006.
VASANT NARASIMHAN
In 2018, Vasant Narasimhan, an Indian-American physician, was appointed CEO of Novartis. Narasimhan earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Chicago, a medical degree from Harvard, and a master’s degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He formerly served as Sandoz International’s Global Head of Biopharmaceuticals and Oncology Injectables.
SHARMISTHA DUBEY
Dubey is credited with redefining dating in the millennial generation. She is the driving force behind the Match Group, which includes Tinder, Match, OkCupid, and Hinge, among other online dating sites. She grew raised in Jamshedpur and went on to study metallurgical engineering at IIT Kharagpur. She began her career at Texas Instruments as an engineer. He began her career with the Match Group in 2006, where she had a variety of positions. In 2017, she was named Tinder’s Chief Operating Officer. Dubey presently works as the Match Group’s Chief Executive Officer. She was named the Vogue Women of the Year 2021 Tech Leader of the Year.

One of his first significant initiatives as CEO was to purchase a full share in India’s United Spirits firm. Guinness, Johnnie Walker Whisky, Smirnoff vodka, and Captain Morgan rum are among the brands owned by the corporation.
AJAY PAL SINGH BANGA
Ajaypal Singh Banga, an Indian Sikh American business leader, is a Padma Shri Award laureate and has been the CEO and president of MasterCard since April 2010. President Barack Obama named him as a member of the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations in 2015. Banga, who was born to a decorated army general of the Indian Army, spent his whole infancy and adolescence travelling throughout the country and from one school to another. He earned a BA in Economics from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
